A euphemism is a word or phrase we use to avoid referring too directly to something unpleasant or embarrassing. Can you guess the meaning of these?

My grandfather passed on two years ago.

He's being economical with the truth.

The doctor says your mother is in a bad way.

Excuse me. I have to spend a penny.

Joe had one too many in the pub last night.

وقتی...

وقتی که دیگر نبود

من به بودنش نیازمند شدم.

وقتی که دیگر رفت

من به انتظار امدنش نشستم.

وقتی که دیگر نمی توانست مرا دوست بدارد

من او را دوست داشتم.

وقتی او تمام کرد

من شروع کردم.

وقتی او تمام شد

من اغاز شدم.

و چه سخت است

تنها متولد شدن

مثل تنها زندگی کردن

           مثل تنها مردن!

Grammar is the system of a language. People sometimes describe grammar as the "rules" of a language; but in fact no language has rules*. If we use the word "rules", we suggest that somebody created the rules first and then spoke the language, like a new game. But languages did not start like that. Languages started by people making sounds which evolved into words, phrases and sentences. No commonly-spoken language is fixed. All languages change over time. What we call "grammar" is simply a reflection of a language at a particular time.

Do we need to study grammar to learn a language? The short answer is "no". Very many people in the world speak their own, native language without having studied its grammar. Children start to speak before they even know the word "grammar". But if you are serious about learning a foreign language, the long answer is "yes, grammar can help you to learn a language more quickly and more efficiently." It's important to think of grammar as something that can help you, like a friend. When you understand the grammar (or system) of a language, you can understand many things yourself, without having to ask a teacher or look in a book.

So think of grammar as something good, something positive, something that you can use to find your way - like a signpost or a map.

* Except invented languages like Esperanto. And if Esperanto were widely spoken, its rules would soon be very different.

People in different parts of the world use different sounds(not words, just sounds)in different situations. In english speaking countries people often say 'mmm' when something tastes delicious. 'ouch' if they are hurt. 'wow' if they are impressed. 'ssh' if they want someone to be quiet and 'ah' if they suddenly see or understand something.

WHEN LOVE  beckons to you, follow him

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him

Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you

And when he speaks to you believe in him

Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north

wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.

Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your

tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in

their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

He threshes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

He grinds you to whiteness.

He kneads you until you are pliant;

And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you

may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast.

We use these figures of speech not only in literary language but also in everyday speech. A metaphor is when we describe something as something else and we do not expect our words to be taken literally.

e.g. he has a heart of stone.(his heart is not really made of stone)

A simile is when we compare two things.

e.g.  It was as hot as hell.

IT is beautiful to speak of GOD to man.We cannot fully understand the nature of GOD because we are not GOD,but we can make ready our consciousness to understand, and grow through, the visible expressions of GOD.

WHEN you love you should not say;’GOD is in my heart,’ but rather,’ I am in the heart of GOD.’

O CREAT intelligent Being! Hidden and existing in and for the universe,You can hear me because You are all-seeing; please drop within my soul a seed of Your wisdom to grow a sapling in Your forest and to give Your fruit.Amen

THE SOUL seeks GOD even as heat seeks height, or water seeks the sea. The power to seek and the desire to seek are the inherent properties of the soul. And the soul never loses its path, any more than water runs upward. All souls will be in GOD.

THE FIRST thought of GOD was an angle.

The first word of GOD was a man.

GOD does not woek evil. He gives us Reason and Learning so that we may ever be on our guard against the pitfalls of Error and Destruction.

OUR GOD in His gracious thirst will drink us all, the dewdrop and the tear.

I see Him rising like the mist from the seas and the mountains and plains... GOD is growing through His desire, and man and earth, and all there is upon the earth, rise towards GOD by the power of desire.

COMFORT YE, my beloved weak ones, for there is a Great Power behind and beyond this world of Matter, a Power that is all Justice, Mercy, Pity and Love.

NO MAN can reveal to you aught but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knoaledge...

And even as each one of you stands alone in GOD’s knowledge, so musy each onr of you be alone in his knowledge of GOD and in hos understanding of the earth.

I have been here since the beginning and I shall be until the end of days; for there is no ending to my existance. The human soul is but a part of a burning torch which GOD separated from Himself at Creation.

THE IDEA of God is different in every man, and one can never give another his own religion.

YOU, man, would see the world with the eyes of God, and would grasp the secrets of the hereafter by means of human thought. Such is the fruit of ignorance.

ALL SOULS will be in God...

When the soul reaches God it will be conscious that it is in God, and that it is seeking more of itself in being in God, and that God too is growing and seeking and crystallizing.

AND if you would know God be not therefore a solver of riddles. Rathe look about you and you shall see Him playing with your children.

And look into space; you shall see Him walking in the cloud, outstretching His arm in the lighting and descending in rain.

You shall see Him smiling in flowers, then rising and waving His hands in trees.
